Tour Plan

Day 01: Negombo

This is the nearest city to the airport therefore do not miss a night in Negombo to relax and refresh after the flight. Negombo is famous for its fishing culture and churches. This city where the majority is Christian, is renowned for its cultural and social uniqueness. Thus it is also referred to as the Little Rome of Sri Lanka.

Highlight – The top attractions include a not-to-miss visit to the heart of this town, the fish market. Its colorful riots will give you an experience like no other. This fishing town mostly depends on this market, therefore it is one of the best places to sneak peek into the lives of fishermen in Sri Lanka.

The other activities in Negombo include, a visit to the Negombo Lagoon and bird watching in Muthurajawela Marshes and a boat ride in the Hamilton Canal. This ride is an exciting way of seeing the fishing town coming to life along the river.

Do not miss the city tour by tuk-tuk to visit the beautiful old churches with Gothic architecture and stunning ceiling murals. St.Mary’s church, St. Sebastian’s church in Wellaweediya and St. Sebestian’s Anglican Church are among the most visited Churches in Sri Lanka. St.Sebestian’s church at Katuwapitiya became popular after the shocking Easter attack in 2019 where more than 100 lives of devotees of Christ were ruthlessly taken away.

A well spent evening in a seaside restaurant, with mouthwatering seafood and cool sea breeze will take away any fatigue of the day. Boost up your energy to start traveling inland where more adventures await.

Day 02: Nuwara Eliya

We take an early start for the day as a long journey is ahead of us. The narrow, winding roads take us to Nuwara Eliya from where we take excursions to capture the most charming views of the hillside. En route we can stop by Ramboda falls for a quick photo break.

As we move closer towards Nuwara Eliya, the weather starts to cool down as greenery invades everything until and beyond the horizon. Thousands of acres of Tea plantations and petit waterfalls in every corner paint heaven before us.

Nuwara Eliya was a retreat for Colonialists where they could escape the heat of the tropical island, and to plant and take home the world’s finest tea.We visit a tea plantation today followed by a factory visit to have a first hand experience of the tea making process, summed up by testing a few samples.

We enjoy the evening at leisure before going for a stroll in Gregory park to spend the rest of the day. Hop into a motor boat for a relaxed ride around the lake or challenge yourself with a thrilling and adventurous Jet ski ride.

Day 03: Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast at the hotel we depart to Moonplains to catch the sun rise over the hills. The view deck serves a 360 degree view of the hills surrounding you which are tinted in gold with the first rays of the Sun. Be there on time to witness this magical moment.

Highlight – In the afternoon, visit Bomburu Ella waterfall which cascades down in an incomparably stunning setting. This offers insta-worthy picture opportunities and a splendid backdrop for wowsome snapshots with your loved ones.

On our way back to the hotel Visit Hakgala botanical gardens if time permits. The climate of the Gardens is subtropical, cool, fresh and somewhat similar to an alpine atmosphere. The temperature ranges from 3°C to 15° C. The flora of the gardens is distinctly sub tropical. It represents indigenous, montane flora intermingled with those introduced from other subtropical countries, systematically planted in various sections of the gardens. The best time to see the gardens is probably from about mid March to the end of April.

Day 04: Nuwara Eliya

Waking up before sun, we get ready for another beautiful day in the hill country.

We visit Horton Plains National Park in the morning which is a comparatively challenging walk of 3 hours. The 9km trek covers spectacular views of waterfalls, cloud forests and lush plains and grasslands, which is home for an extended list of fauna including a multitude of species of endemic birds, Samda Deer, and endangered species like Sri Lankan Leopard, Purple Faced Langur and Red Slender Loris. The main viewpoints along the trek include Baker’s falls, world’s end and mini world’s end.

Highlight – Departing Horton Plains, we head towards Ohiya to catch the local train to Pattipola which is Sri Lanka’s highest railway Station. This is an authentic Sri Lankan experience like no other, which is a fantabulous way of appreciating the beauty of the central highlands.

On our way, if time permits, we have a quick photo break at Devil’s Staircase view point.

Our next stop is Ambewela Farm. Spanning 150 acres, Ambewela Farm is well-known across the island for its dairy products, even having its own line of products being sold all around the country at various markets. Here, the cows roam free, grazing on the green pastures of the farm, and the sky is almost always crystal blue. With wind turbines dotting the scenery in the distance, the peaceful farm is a great place to visit during your stay in the hill side.

This concludes another successful day in paradise. Enjoy the evening at leisure after a full day of amusement since we have a flight to catch tomorrow.
